Burke's Indecent (Phoenix Club 4) SPOILER FREE NETGALLEY

Indecent (Spoiler-free NetGalley) Darcy Burke Stars:  Excellent ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ ½ (you know I love a redemption arc) Heat rating:      🔥🔥🔥 🔥 (this was spicy and I LOVED IT) Okay, I loved it. I’ve read the previous three books in the series and enjoyed them, but this one was just amazing. So we’ve seen Prudence throughout the series. She has been a pretty significant secondary character throughout all of the Phoenix Club novels. I remember meeting her in the first one and liking her immediately. In the third book, we learn that she’s eloped, which is one heckuva surprise to us because she’s never even mentioned a man. I won’t lie; it fooled me. But, as you learn in this book, it’s a case of mistaken identity, and she’s actually been kidnapped by, of all people, Viscount Glastonbury, who I absolutely loathed in the previous book. What’s more surprising is the fact that I ended up LOVING him by the time I was several pages into this book, Darcy Burke is a wiz...

Michaels' The Queen's Man (spoiler-free review for NetGalley)

The Queen's Man (spoiler-free review for NetGalley) Regency Royals 5 Jess Michaels Stars:  Excellent ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ ½ (mature lovers; we get to see our old faves) Heat rating:      🔥🔥🔥 🔥 (50+ doesn't mean you're not hot!) I have wanted this book to happen since I read the first book in the Regency Royals series, To Protect a Princess , and met Gia and Dash. As you may know, I am a 50-year old romance novel reader and blogger, so the thought of a mature couple got my juices flowing. Finally, someone like ME. So shout out to Jess Michaels for making my dreams come true. You should read the first three books in the Regency Royal Series before you get this one—believe me, you will not regret reading those! This series also loosely ties in with The Three Mrs. series, but knowledge of that isn’t required to enjoy Regency Royals. If you read the rest of the series, you saw something between Gia and Dash, and were probably rooting for these two just like I was. T...

Heath's In Bed with the Devil (Scoundrels of St. James: 1)

In Bed with the Devil Scoundrels of St. James, Book 1 Lorraine Heath Stars:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (good friends; gambling hell is an automatic star; tortured hero; perfect for each other but they don’t realize it; there’s a mystery) Heat rating:   🔥🔥🔥 (for more, see the SEX-AND-SPOILERS section, of course) Oh, so, it’s time for Lorraine Heath. I really love her books. They always bring in a character twist that’s delightfully creative. In this book, Lucian Langdon, the Earl of Claybourne, might not actually be the earl. Oh, and he may also have killed his uncle. Let’s begin. So Lucian really doesn’t know who he is. He grew up as Luke*, a London street urchin, a thief, and murderer. His (purported) parents were killed, but he doesn’t remember the murder. He ended up on the street, until he was arrested and would have been hanged at 14, but fate intervened. See, the father of the man he killed wanted to meet him to ask why he did it—but as soon as the man saw him, he began...
